This summer I am doing a fulltime internship at a hospital in the Neurosurgery department following around a PA and some docs. I am also taking physics I (self paced) as well as studying for the MCAT (taking july 24th). Im finding im trying to prioritize my time but finding that there arent enough hours in the day to study/work/golf( I play collegiately so practice is a must).

Im wondering if anyone is in the same situation and can lend some words of advice. Oh yeah, I am also kinda pissed because the Physics class grades only (A,B,C), no +/- so 90%=A, 89%=B, and im worried that if I spend most of my time on the MCAT, my physics grade will suffer and vise versa.

Any tips would be AWSOME.

Can you cut back on the internship hours? Is that mainly going to consist of shadowing or are you going to be doing a research project? If just shadowing/following then I would personally cut back on that since you can't cut back on the class time, can't cut out practice, and shouldn't sacrifice MCAT study time.

No i am not doing any research/projects at the internship, but since I miss different days/half days for golf and or taking tests and labs, i dont want to push my luck.

My feeling is the doing better on the MCAT is more important than a grade in physics, but still worried.

I was in a similar situation last year I was taking Physics II while studying for the MCAT's during the summer and looking back it was the stupidest thing I did. In the end everything worked out but, I killed myself doing it and it wasn't worth it. You should try to get the best grades possible and do well on the MCAT's as you can. You also have another advantage the MCAT is given many times throughout the year take the exam when you are ready for it. There is no rush to get into this cycle. Give yourself the best chance for success even if it means you are a year older. I would say push off the MCAT's and wait until you can give it the attention it requires. The MCAT is not an exam you want to take again. So take it once when you are ready for it.
