Here it is. My average was a 15. I can't believe i messed up, but i had no time to study. My GPA is a 3.2/3.3 (cume) and for the last few semesters it has been 3.8. A in organic ect.... i have applied to about 10 schools, some decent schools and some others would concider back up. I also have worked with a dentist for the last 12 years, I love dentistry and more than anything i want to be one. I will be taking the test over, with out a question, but do you guys think ther is any chance of any school accepting me. (and I mean any) life has been ****ty lattly.

15 average, ouch. Why did you even take the darn test if you didnt study? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Study your ass off this time and score AT LEAST 19. Your cum GPA is decent and your 3.8's are pretty good (if you took sciences and not art).

But honestly, I dont mean to grill you, but what were you thinking taking the test if you were grossly unprepared???

bio is the major. and i believe it is only because my girl friend's mom had a heart attack the day before and i am a bit exhausted from running around

Don't fool yourself. I'm sorry about your girlfriend's moom, but its NOT only because of that event. I dont care how much running around you did. You scored a 15 because you did not know the material. You didn't take the DAT seriously enough, and as a result, you scored a mere 15.

Look, I am not trying to be a dick, but I dont think I should tell you, "ahh, its ok man" because its really not. Tough love is sometimes a lot more beneficial, so consider this constructive criticism. Truthfully, 15's on your record is gonna raise all kinds of red flags.

Take some time and contemplate the tremendous dedication neccessary to complete dental school. The DAT is only the tip of the iceberg. You will have even harder challenges ahead. Are you prepared to handle 22 units per semester? Can you handle preparing for the NBDE? All these tasks are going to require tremendous dedication.

If you feel its something you can handle, and please be honest with yourself, you have something to prove now. You have pretty much dug yourself into a hole, and you need to prove it was a fluke. Your second attempt at the DAT should be spectacular. You need to show adcoms something that will make them overlook your bleak prior attempt.

If you decide to do it, take it seriously, work hard, and you can acheive it! If you don't, you have been working in a dental office for 12 years so you have stability at work. Concentrating on work is better than continuing this half-hearted attempt.

Retake is ASAP!!!

Most schools won't even look at your app unless you have a min of 16 in each section. So it you got a 17 in one and a 14 in another, you may have some issues.

This is your life, you need to study. I agree with the other poster...a 15 is just not knowing the material.

considering you got a 15 without studying, you should have no problem scoring atleast 17s and 18s WITH studying. I think Kaplan alone could get you where you want to get.
