For everyone that has just gotten accepted to pharm school congrats but I was wondering what your stats were, I am going to apply in the summer for ED to a few schools

But I was just curious what I need to work towards on the PCAT and with my gpa, I know that higher the better but I would like actual stats and experience from those that got in if you don't mind

and again congrats to those that got in

You can only apply to one school went going ED.

Schools tend to list averages, standard deviations, and population/sample sizes on their websites. With that data, you can easily see that they actually let people in over a wide range of stats.

I want to point out that the people on this forum are a very small subset of students who got into pharm school. As Knickerbocker said, look at school's websites for more specific info. You would probably get a very small number of people to reply (not representative), and you can't necessarily trust them as right. The info you would get about stats on here isn't going to be as beneficial to you as actually looking at a school's website.

on behalf of the university of florida, i barely got in with my 3.49 overall GPA, 2.99 prepharm GPA, 92 PCAT, and 2.5 years of tech experience.
the average stats for my entering class:
high ass GPA, i dont recall...
90+ PCAT
half had bachelors degrees
half had pharmacy experience

Which school are you planning to apply ED?

I applied to a lot of schools this round and I'm still working on 2 more supps.. But here's what has happened so far:

Interview offers from: MWU-CPG, Howard, Shenandoah, Pacific Univ (OR)
Accepted: MWU-CPG

My stats are not so great..
cGPA: 3.05
PCAT: 86 composite
14 months hospital pharmacy (order entry, IV, everything.. haha)
volunteer work at outpatient pharmacy, nursing floor, & humane society

I think if you ask sometime in the first half of next year, you'll get better answers. At this time, the interviewing process hasn't begun for many schools.

barely getting in....is getting in! just like c=pharmd!

my prepharm and overall gpa were both around 3.15-3.2. 88 on pcat, 2 bachelors degrees...uf alum. got a tech job after submitting pharmcas so while i worked there nearly a year none of the schools knew that from my app until i mentioned it in the interview. however i did have 1 year of drug store management experience before so perhaps that counted as pharm experience who knows.

4.5yrs tech experience, certified 9/28/07
Really good LOR (pharmacist, professor/ bio dept. head, and professor/ sciences dept chair)

Accepted to Mercer, interviewed w/ NOVA (haven't heard back yet, and interview w/ Howard coming up.

oops, you're right. they told us some off statistics during orientation (lies! filthy LIES!). here are the real stats, on the UF COP site(http://www.cop.ufl.edu/studaff/career/career10.pdf):
2007 Incoming Students
Average GPA: 3.53
Average PCAT: 82
Gender: Male: 34% Female: 63%
Residency: Florida: 98%
Non‐Florida: 2%

Here are the stats for U of Minnesota (incoming class in Fall 2007)

Average GPA: 3.52
GPA range: 2.81 - 4.00
Average PCAT Composite: 84%
PCAT range: 35% - 99%
Percent of MN residents: 64% (I am guessing 36% are out-of-state residents)
Average age: 25

For more stats, check out their website:

I am planning ed to maryland.
I didn't know that you could only apply ed at one school that sucks but i will have my bs in biology may 2009 so I think that will help and I start undergrad research this spring.

rxgrl08...just wondering, what was your composite pcat score?

i got in last year with a 3.2 gpa and a 72 on the pcat.......i guess i got lucky

Thanks for info.
Very low percentage of out-of-state resident!! That's why I changed my mind not to apply there despite the fact that they accept January PCAT

Gwalla...to what school did u get in?...did u have a bachelors degree...what did your file look like other than the pcat and gpa...how did the interview go?

i dont have a bachelors degree........i took the pcat january of 2007 ( i was 19 at the time with only 3 semesters of undergrad education under my belt) ........i go to howard, had excellent recommendations and i am very charismatic so the interview was very easy for me..............honestly i think they excused my pcat because they knew i only had 45 credits when i took the pcat when many people with bachelors degrees and 100+ credits barely did better then i did

yeah, I just turned 20 with 3 semesters under my belt as well....

I submitted my app to Mercer for fall 2008 in august...

at the time...I was also just 19...and I had only 30 official college credits under my belt...one of which was a freshman intro course so did not count to prereqs...I say official cause I got credit for eng I and some elective classes through high school credits (AP/IB)

I took the pcat in august and got an 82 composite...what killed me was the bio section (got a 40) cause I knew no micro, A&P, etc...I had only taken Bio I...

yeah, I am waiting for a decision within 2-3 weeks....

At my interview...I came off very enthusiastic...we will see...

I have extracurriculars (hospital volunteer, retail pharmtech), a 3.73 overall GPA...3.75 science...(only 2 B's I made in Calc I and GEN CHem I at a harder college (GA TECH) I was at my first semester are bringing me down from a 4.0)

I hope Mercer does consider that given the classes I had taken I could only do so well on the pcat...

again, we will see....😳
