Take a look at your university catalog under the heading: Majors. That should give you ideas.
Seriously, besides biology, there are as many majors as there are pre-dental students.

Most of my pre-dental friends and I here are either Biology, Microbiology, or Nutrition majors just cuz it's convenient and the major already includes all the dental school prereqs. But, my other friend did biological engineering and that apparently impressed dental schools. Got 10 interview invites. Given this info, go with your gut feeling! I know some people who are so bored and unhappy with their major. Good luck! 😀
I majored in psychology (minor in biology). Because I enjoy my major/classes, it made it easier to study for. The minor in biology helped me take all the prereqs without a problem, in addition to some upper level bio classes to show the admissions committee that I can take science classes.
I have three interviews so far.
So although the norm is to major in biology, you might want to consider something you enjoy instead. Just remember to take those prereqs and possibly some extra science classes on the side.

Thanks everyone that was helpful. i just feel like if i were to major in something like business or spanish, I would have to be doing more work because I would be doing the major classes then having to to the prequis classes too. I do like the fact tho that I do not have to major in a science. Thanks everyone.
Econ major, Minor in chemistry. Post-bac in Biology, Candidate for MA in Molecular and Cellular biology, with special emphasis on Microsurgery. Wow, that sounds impressive, but that doesn't matter as much if you don't do well in them and if you DAT scores suck. Focus on doing well in college first, and take one science course each semester, and you'll have all your pre-dent requirements. enjoy undergrad...oh...i miss undergrad!!!
Biotechnology - took basically all the sciences courses the department has to offer - ended up with a 3.0 science gpa. Whuddya gonna do? lol
The advantage to my school is that the first two years is setup so you take a bunch of humanities. I have a minor in biology, chemistry, and interdisciplinary studies

I was English-only until I realized that taking all the pre-dent requirements was basically like fulfilling a Bio major (plus a few more upperdivs, of course), so I went ahead and doubled in said major. I don't know how it works at other schools, but at UC Davis, I don't think they list minors on your diploma (they do on your transcripts, though). When I hang that thing in my room, I want proof that I took all those classes!

I'm majoring in Biology/Medical Technology. I'm still not sure whether or not that's a good path to take since it's a degree that gets you a specific job afterwards (MT or CLS) Would that turn dental schools off? After all, it's still a Biology major and I'll be doing tons of upper level bio and chem courses.
Music major! 😀

Music major! 😀
woot woot! (was a minor, but it took three solid years...something like 28 credits?)

I quadruple majored in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Business, and Mathematics 😀
Haha no, seriously I majored in Botany. I was one of 2 students who graduated with that degree in 2007 at UF.
If I had it to do all over again, I would have majored in something a whole lot easier than Botany.

How's the smut business, Jackie?
But seriously, botany major? Ouch. I couldn't even bring myself to study for the small portion of intro biology that deals with plants.
