Hello All,

I am wondering if anyone here knows of a pro bono veterinarian, or animal clinic. My family found a cat that has been hanging around for a while outside. The cat recently was in a fight with another (or we suspect), and it was injured near its belly. Within the past two days it developed a large cyst, and I believe it worsening. It is about the size of an apple. Anyways, if you know of any extremely low cost vets out here in the South Florida Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area, then please post their information. Truly appreciate your time and empathy.

You might want to call your local animal control or humane society if this is a stray cat. My local human society has a "second chance" program where they'll provide veterinary care to animals that have a good chance of being adoptable in the near future. If you want to keep the cat, you're not going to know how much the vet bill will be until you TAKE THE CAT TO THE VET and find out what's wrong with it. If you had a "cyst" the size of an apple and growing, you wouldn't be sitting around waiting. TAKE THE CAT TO THE VET OR TAKE IT TO AN ANIMAL SHELTER!!!

Yeah please take this poor kitty to the humane society immediately, especially if the cat is not yours. The longer you wait the worse it can get. Also, I think some shelters may be able to offer you the chance to adopt it if the owner is not found within a certain time period.

Contact Discount Pet Clinic in Davie, FL. Davie is just minutes from Ft. Lauderdale and will likely be the cheapest you will find unless you can find a rescue group or shelter to help, but they tend to be swamped with their own situations. You can get the telephone number from yellowpages.com if it isn't in your local telephone book.
