i m a 1st yr pre-pharm student looking to apply for pharm scul on fall'09. i wanted to know where can i get ia job or dovoluntary work so that it adds to my application and i can get some LORs later?

Walk into a pharmacy and ask if they are hiring or will allow to volunteer, try independent pharmacies, hospitals are always looking for volunteering. Group homes for the mentally handicapped and nursing homes are also always looking for volunteering. There is tons of volunteering options out there, just see what options there are in your community. Volunteering is a very social thing so it is good opportunity to learn to talk to strangers if you are uncomfortable with it.

is this your 1st year??? you still have plenty of time...........first prove that you can get the grade ...like 4.0 ??? then many opportunities will spring up

Nah, I wouldn't wait. Why wait? The sooner the better. Slinger has good advice. 🙂

DO NOT WAIT...pharmacy schools look for well-rounded students. Get some experience in the healthcare field and the pharmacy specifically. In addition to GPA and PCAT, Schools look for individuals with good social skills, experience, and a background knowledge of the career of which they wish to pursue.
