Please take a look at my volunteering hours..will this badly affect my app?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yes, I feel the same way everyone has I do this this and this. They filled up their whole ec spots list.

I only had 2 ECs since I also worked during school.

Your gpa is high and so is your dat. They will see that you worked during school and could not volunteer as much.

In my opinion, working 20 hours a week is way harder than going to volunteer for 3 hours every 2 weeks.

Don't worry. I think you already did more than enough. I can't even believe that you are worried.
With your stats, I strongly believe that you will get into many schools.
Good luck.

I am in the same situation. I have about 5000 hours of work during my undergrad to pay off my tuition and to alleviate my family's financial problems. I have about 100 hours of shadowing and only about 120 hours of community service in 5 years :X

I am applying right now and started to worry about my volunteering hours..
I have 3.70 overall 3.60s gpa(bio major), with AA 23, TS 24, PAT 23.

The thing that worries me is my volunteering hours. I have around 70 hours at soup kitchen, ~10 hours in free clinic, ~24 hours abroad. totaling up around only 100 hours.

I worked all my college years and after I graduated, tutoring and as a waitress, and this is the reason why I do not really have much volunteering hours..I was working almost everyday to pay my tuition.

I have about total 200 hours of shadowing, 100 hours of shadowing from a general dentist, 48 from another GP (4 years ago though, more as a volunteer) and 5 hrs oral surgeon and 50 hr shadowing from another GP.

I have some dental experiences other than shadowing like working in dental lab (without getting paid.. just practicing making models n etc) and volunteering as a pre-dental student at a expos, and etc..( ~20 hours)

Research for 6 months. no publication.

It looks like SDNers have really high EC hours and volunteering hours. I am just worried that my volunteering/EC will affect my app badly.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe your going to be Okay. I mean adcoms aren't robots, they are going to understand you literally didn't have any personal time off to go and do much community service. Between shadowing (which you have a good amount of hours in), school, research & working to support yourself

Another thing I believe in is, people with strong stats like yours (GPA and DAT wise) are more likely to get away from the "little things" like shadowing, research, volunteering, etc etc. Its just, dental school admission is a huge numbers game and you got those in the pocket.

I had no research, 50 hrs of service, and much lower DAT scores (19). You will be fine. And I am not a URM.
