Hi yall, this summer was really rough. I have been studying full time and I was hoping to finish the mcat by September and enjoy my Senior year. I have finished anki at 80%, so I don't think it's a content review problem. I just feel so discouraged. I have finished 50% of Upoop, and I do intense review for each question. I really want to improve, but I am feeling more and more discouraged. I feel like if I don’t finish the MCAT by January, then maybe I should look for a different career, you know? I don’t know if I am being dramatic, but I have dreamed of being a doctor since I was 12 years old.
I would really like to improve and get 515+, because the only school I can afford right now is Rutgers (thanks Big Beautiful Bill). I know my score right now is sub 500, so should I focus on content review more? Or should I do more Upoop with intense review. Please give me honest feedback. I talked to someone else, and they are recommending me to do tutoring. I don’t know if that is something affordable. Thanks again for reading this, and have a lovely day! Also, if anyone is looking for a part time study buddy, hit me up!

I'd spam AAMC SB1+2 and do all the FLs at this point. UWorld is good for content, but with ~2 weeks left, I wouldn't spend time on it and only do the official AAMC material

Mind you, you might be able to push your score to around a 505-510 but that's with dedicated review.

To earn a 515+, you'd need another 3-4 months because scores under a 502 demonstrate lack of content review. Best of luck!

There are no January MCAT dates. Your best bet would be to postpone it to Spring '26. The MCAT isn't going anywhere, and neither will you if you rush it.

Your first priority should be to finish 100% of the AAMC mcat bundle. Save those FLs for the 6 weeks before the real thing.

There are January MCAT dates next year but registration doesn’t open until near the end of October

Hey, I do not know how helpful I will be because I am still studying for the MCAT as well. I am also not a professional MCAT expert or anything and have my own weak points. That being said, for your Chem/Physics section, you have been able to score as high as 129, but have also scored as low as 122. I would trust the aamc one more because third party exams are known for deflating your score. I would take couple more aamc FL and see where you are landing. If you think your content review is not a problem, then it might just be your testing strategies. For all the tests you have scored low on, see if it's the same question type or similar content that you are missing the points on. CARS has also been my weak point. If you are scoring on the low 120s, I think it's because you are missing out on the main idea of the passage. I have not tried Jack Westin full length exams, but I know for their daily CARS passage, they provide a main idea. If I get more than half of the questions wrong on the passage, I reread the passage again and see if my main idea matched theirs. If it did match, then I know its other issues such as getting the tone wrong or picking an answer that's half right. I recommend watching IFD - Informing Future Doctors videos on Youtube. I used to suck at CARS, but now I suck a little less after watching their videos. If you are still set to take the exam on September, I think psych/socio would be the easiest to improve on. I hope you the best of luck on your studying! Also take rest when needed!
