1) Vasodilation and inreased vas.permeability lasting for several days in inflammed are indicates---
Thrombosis
Release of Histamine
Release of Hageman factor
Formation of granulation tissue
Endothelial damage
2)Immunologic injury that involves activation of complement as an important event in producing damage to tissues found in

Type I
Type II
Type III
Type IV

3) Which molecule on B-lymphocyte recognizes specific antigen??
C3
HLA
Lymphokone
Immunoglobulin
I got this doubt because B-cells are antigen presenting cells to T helper cells and HLA --D are specific genes on these APCs.

4)A 25 yr male presents with tooth ache, fever, diffuse , firm facial swelling with neutrophilic leukocytosis. The facial sweeling represents

cellulitis.Ithink answer is this but answer says Gr.Inflamn
Graulomatous inflammmation.

5)Which of the following is endogenous infection??

-Syphilis
-Subacute bacterial endocarditis..I think answer is this because strep.viridans are habitants of oral cavity and any dental manipulations give them chance to go to blood stream and cause endocarditis
-Gas Gangrene

6)Which of the following represents the predominant serum immglob found during a memory response.??

-Ig A
-Ig G
-Ig E

7)Which of the following best describes pts who develop meningitis folllowing Mumps, coxsackie or echo virus infections??
-Rarely develop permanent neural damage
-Subject to exacerbations once the altent virus is activated
-Rarely develop permanent neural damage

8)Stap.aureus most commonly cause
-Pyoderma
_Septicemia
-Chr.infections
_Exogenous infections,
I thnik it is Pyoderma as abscesses, impetigo are common. Then I feel Septicemia is also right as it causes septicemia

9)Each of the following is a type of inflammatory exudate type except
-serous
_Fibrous
-Fibrinous
-Pseudomembranous

I think it is fibrous as all other things contain one or other form of necrosis.
Thanks a lot in advance. Please provide explanntn for any answer you give...

1) Vasodilation and inreased vas.permeability lasting for several days in inflammed are indicates---
Thrombosis
Release of Histamine
Release of Hageman factor
Formation of granulation tissue
Endothelial damage
This answer I don't have a reference. I just remember the answer key as release of Hageman factor which might be wrong too.

2)Immunologic injury that involves activation of complement as an important event in producing damage to tissues found in

Type I
Type II
Type III
Type IV
This is a difficult question. Is it all you get in the question or is there any other missing hint in the question? The reason is, it can be both Type II (usually limited tissue involvement e.g good pasture syndrome ; mainly kidney) and Type III (soluble immune complexes; can affect multiple organ system e.g SLE). If I have to choose with the information provided, I'd choose Type III since it is soluble immune complex reaction and it can cause depletion of completement as a result. Please refer to this website http://pathmicro.med.sc.edu/ghaffar/hyper00.htm

3) Which molecule on B-lymphocyte recognizes specific antigen??
C3
HLA
Lymphokone
Immunoglobulin
This is for sure immunoglobulin. B cell receptor that recognized the antigens are the immunoglobulins. IgG for spedific binding and IgM for non-specific binding. Then the antigen is presented to T cells by MHC molecules. Please see these figures.

4)A 25 yr male presents with tooth ache, fever, diffuse , firm facial swelling with neutrophilic leukocytosis. The facial sweeling represents

Cellulitis. I agree with you. It cannot be granulomatous inflammation while there is neutrophilic leukocytosis. Cellulitis is rapid spread of acute inflammation where even suppuration cannot occur yet. A specific type of cellulitis in the head and neck region is all we know ludwig's angina where bilateral submental and submandibular (sublingual) spaces are involved.

5)Which of the following is endogenous infection??

-Syphilis
-Subacute bacterial endocarditis..I think answer is this because strep.viridans are habitants of oral cavity and any dental manipulations give them chance to go to blood stream and cause endocarditis
-Gas Gangrene-but answer says this
yes. I think the answer should be SBE too from the answer choices given.

6)Which of the following represents the predominant serum immglob found during a memory response.??

-Ig A
-Ig G
-Ig E
In general, most memory reponse are through IgG which is the most abundant immunoglobulin. Can be Ig E for anaphylatic reactions. IgA is not really specific. IgA is part of the protective barrier on the mucosa surfaces preventing bacterial colonization.

7)Which of the following best describes pts who develop meningitis folllowing Mumps, coxsackie or echo virus infections??
-Rarely develop permanent neural damage
-Subject to exacerbations once the altent virus is activated
Rarely develop permanent neural damage These viruses do not have latency. Although the damage occur depends on other factors but usually viral meningitis are not as severe as bacterial meningitis and most of them are self-limiting and you can only do supportive therapy.

8)Stap.aureus most commonly cause
-Pyoderma
_Septicemia
-Chr.infections
_Exogenous infections,
You are right with septicemia but the catch is the term most commonly cause. So I'd go with pyroderma.

9)Each of the following is a type of inflammatory exudate type except
-serous
_Fibrous-Fibrinous
-Pseudomembranous

Yes, there is no such term as fibrous exudate in pathology. Only fibrinous exudate.

Type III
Type IV

i agree, type III can also be the answer.........
