i was wondering what PM&R can provide on a daily basis in an acute care hospital setting. Most of my experience has been seeing consults for dispo, but that doesn't provide much value to other services outside of a one time consult note. If we were to round on a patient daily like other services (eg cardiology, ID, Neuro) what sort of recommendations could we provide on a day to day basis? Bowel/bladder? MSK issues?

There are certainly things PM&R can help with, but most of the other Dr's likely won't see that much of a value in it. But the patient & their family will. Things like dealing with neuropathic pain, prevention of pressure ulcers & contractures, dealing with autonomic dysrelexia or agitation in neurological injuries.
