Hello!

I am looking for a PM&R program strong in outpatient, MSK, EMG, and pain. Any ideas? Also, if anyone has any info about the programs at San Antonio, Emory, U of Miami, and UC Davis it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!!

I know that this is not your question, but I would encourage you to go to the BEST overall program you can get into. With what you are asking for, I could easily say U Washington, RIC, Mayo, Kessler. Three of these are also great inpt programs. If you learn biomechanics, and get good EMG training, you can do anything. If you are going to be an interventionalist (except purely lumbar procedures), you are best served with a fellowship.

True, in the long-term, having deep knowledge base, examination skills and clinical judgement (in other words, have solid fundamentals) will allow you to transition into whatever specific direction Physiatry may take in the future.

In the short-term, I think it's important to have as many different useful skills as possible, not only to land that first job, but to be able to compete with other specialists who perform similar services.

It's just like sports, the best players can do things other players can't but are also solid in the fundamentals.

Nope. I just can't ask the obvious question......😱
