I'm about to do my 4th year rotations in PM&R.

I've signed up for a one month elective in PM&R and a one month PM&R chronic care rotation.

The main difference between the two is that the first one offers you the choice of doing 1-4 week rotations in Ortho (general rehab), SCI, TBI, and Stroke. The second one is month long in any one.

Since I am trying to get letters, I want to stick with one rotation for the entire month for the elective. The attendings at my institution are very fussy about giving letters if they work with you for less than 3 weeks. So, I thought it would be best to do a month of Ortho (general rehab) first.

For the second month, I was planning on doing TBI, since I've already seen a lot of stroke patients during my Neurology month, and I'm slightly less keen on SCI.

Is this a good plan?

Are these both at the same institution? I think doing Ortho/general and TBI will give you pretty good exposure to most inpatient rehab type stuff - could also consider getting some outpatient clinic time as well.

I got letters from physiatrists with whom I did 2wk rotations - but obviously, 4 wks is better than 2wks.
