Hi,

Just to confirm for myself: PML findings on MRI are described as "nonenhancing lesions of MRI". However, one picture in FA shows the lesions being hyperintense (which would contradict the "nonenhancement").

Is the consensus that usually on MRI (i.e., the types of MRI most commonly used) the lesions appear nonenhancing, but may appear hyperintense on certain forms (as that one picture shows)?

You do not understand the terminology. Enhancing refers to lesions that take up contrast - lesions that appear brighter on T1 weighted sequences with versus without contrast. Hyperintense is a generic term used to describe any lesion that appears bright. All enhancing lessons are hyperintense on T1+contrast sequences. Nonenhancing lesions can appear hyperintense as well. The nonenhancing lesions of PML are hyperintense on T2 weighted sequences.
