Could anyone explain why BP goes down and CVP goes up? Thanks so much! 🙂

Pneumothorax --> compression alectasis. Blood gets dammed up behind the lung --> CVP increase. Less blood gets out of the lung --> decreased stroke volume --> decreased BP.

Yeah. You're basically increasing RV afterload, which backs up to increase CVP. And you're also decreasing LA preload, which decreases CO, so BP decreases.
