hello guys! I haven't seen any threads for schools in the pacific northwest yet (U of Washinghton, PacU, U of puget sound, etc) so I wanted to start a thread for those who did apply. Feel free to share your acceptances/ rejections , waitlist, questions here :)

Has anyone that applied to University of Washington heard anything back yet?

Thanks for starting this thread! I've applied to UW, UPS, and George Fox. I know George Fox releases interview decisions on December 21st, UW is January, and UPS February is I think. It feels like we've been waiting foreverrr.

Congratulations! Will you be attending UW or waiting for UPS?

I need to check out both programs still. I have a tour/class sit in scheduled at UPS 2/21. My deposit is due on 2/15 for UW so we'll see what happens. I don't know much about UW's program... Do you?

I was wait listed for UW this week but accepted to UPS, EWU, and Regis university. While making my decisions for where I will accepted I spoke with a lot of students that either go tonUW, have friends there in their PT program and what not....the overall message I got from those conversations is that they didn't like UW's PT program. If you really like research a lot then go to UW, but if you really want to hands on learn more don't. I also have heard that The PT program there is like the red headed step child. It isn't the forefront of their school which makes it kinda of just something they added on after the fact. Just please before you make a choice decide if research is something you are truly wanting to focus on..the things I have heard have literally pushed me to send in the letter that says I want to be taken off the wait list. Cuz I am truly no longer interested.

This is what I found on the forum. I don't know if it is true. UW and UPS are my top choices since I want to stay here in Washington. Did you get accepted to any other programs?

I got my acceptance this morning, I was surprised it came through so early!

I found that forum too. I talked to a friend who is a second year and he said that hes between inpatient acute care and outpatient ortho as specialties and believes that with either direction, he feels that the program has prepared him for that. He said that the only real flaw of UWs program is the administration (a few not so great teachers, poor decision making, etc). They do favor a lot of research and lit reviews but the ortho classes do have lots of manual therapy and offer a few therapeutic exercise classes. I'm leaning towards outpatient ortho so that's a big deciding factor for me.

My SO is in his 3rd of medical school at UW, and we already have an apartment up there. So as of now, it's a good fit for me.

I'm still waiting on decisions for some out of state schools, but I only have a official acceptance from UW as of now.

Congratulation again on your acceptance. I feel like even though there are mixed reviews about the program, the PT program at UW is still a very good program. Would it be cool if you can post your stats? Especially your extra curriculum?

Anybody who got accepted to UPS but will give up their spots?

Overall GPA: 3.2
Pre-Req GPA: 3.4-3.6
GRE: V:143, Q:145, 3.5

Extra-Curric: D2 Cross country & track athlete, biology club, secretary of the Chemistry Club, work at on-campus gym, race assistant at local 5k's-Half marathons (2011-current), Assistant Coach to HS Cross Country and Track for 2 years. I'm extremely involved in the local running community.

I'm nontraditional and I vetted other career pathways as an Agricultural Research Tech and as a Media Marketing Specialist. I grew up on a farm in an extremely small town with very limited access to healthcare. Many other personal experiences, ones I would rather not have, that I was able to include in my application.

I have a killer personal statement and LORs, which helps with my low GPA and GRE.

Volunteer: ~3200 hours between Outpatient PT, Inpatient PT, Postural Restoration Clinic and Women's Health.

Our stats are very similar, except for the fact that you have more observation hours than me. I am applying as an international student and a nontraditional student (had a double degree in finance and marketing). Congrats again.

I just got off the waitlist and will be attending UPS this Fall. Hope you guys will get some good news soon too.
