I was wondering if people could give me some info on Pacific Northwest University. I am from the east coast and planned on applying mainly to east coast schools, but I am recently engaged and my fiance is from Washington. I know PNWU is a new school but is there any info out there about the quality of education and rotation sites for the school, especially compared to some of the schools out east (i.e. Nova, PCOM) I want to go to medical school near family, especially for my fiance because I feel that support system for her is important during my studies. Thanks!

Go to the school specific discussion thread. I would look at this years and last years thread

pretty sure they have a heavy regional bias. maybe i am wrong, but i thought i read that somewhere.

HEAVY regional bias. I'm not even being considered for a secondary until December 1st due to their preference of Pacific Northwesters.

In my research I found it has a regional (NW) bias of 87%. Mission statement to produce physicians for the Northwest region, as expected. Don't quote me, though.

While out there touring the campus the I was told by the admissions office that they either want a) someone with very strong ties to the NW or b) someone who has 100% intentions of staying in the NW.

Apparently they will flat out tell somebody from out east (just for an example) that is planning to go back east, "Save your money, don't bother applying."
