What’s everyone’s go-to podcasts? Not necessarily all medical ones either. My favorite ones right now are planet money, freakonomics and the white coat investor. I also have a couple of fantasy football shows I listen to but that season is over. ACCRAC is the one medical podcast I will regularly listen to.
So, what are you guys listening to on your commutes? Help me be a lazy bum and avoid the horrible search feature on the podcast app.

Making Sense with Sam Harris-philosophy, culture, current events.

Prof G Pod- economics, stocks, culture.

Sean Carrol’s Mindscape-science and philosophy.

Dishcast with Andrew Sullivan-politics and current events.

Fake Doctors, Real Friends: the Scrubs rewatch podcast. Start at the beginning. It's great!

Smartless: Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman, and Will Arnett interview celebrities

WTF with Marc Maron: Deeper and more thoughtful interviews with interesting people.

Popular Science's The Weirdest Thing I lLearned This Week.

Fake Doctors is really good and I agree, definitely start at the beginning to hear of how it was developed

My daughter wanted me to listen to Office Ladies, because we are both big fans of the show, The Office. Wow! It is horrible. It really made me hate their characters on the show.
Similarly, Crime Junkies is like nails on a chalkboard for me. The way she talks to her friend who has piped in with some inane comment that always begins with "Wait a minute..."
Not sure how either one ever became popular.

Yeah. I was disappointed with Office Ladies. Apparently the New Girl cast is doing one so it's definitely becoming a trend. The problem is most of them just ramble and are disorganized.

I'd say I'm one of those people who chases an adrenaline rush and the associated euphoria and endorphins a little more than the average person. I also love hearing/reading others' stories about adventures, so I've been enjoying the podcast "Real Risk" by Richard "Harry" Harris, the Australian anesthesiologist who helped save all the kids in Thailand in the cave. I definitely recommend it. Found out about it after he was on ACCRAC.

(Wanted to share this podcast, so I figured I'd revive an old thread rather than start a new one)

The Morgan Housel Podcast is great. Short podcasts that are full of wisdom and well thought out philosophy and psychology with regards to finance, human bias, and all kinds of stuff. He's the author of "The Psychology of Money".

Also the "Science Versus" podcast has some interesting discussions.

If you like history:

Mike Duncan - the history of Rome, Revolutions
2nd world war - We have ways of making you talk

American Innovations

Here are a few of my favorites listens that haven't already been mentioned.

Stay Tuned with Preet - Legal breakdown of current events by former US Attorney Preet Bharara. Jump in with the newest show or topic that interests you.

We're Here to Help - Quirky advice call-in show from Jake Johnson (from New Girl) and comedian Gareth Reynolds. I literally laugh out loud regularly which is rare for me. Definitely more adult humor at times. I'd start at the beginning of this one as they do follow-up calls with former guests. The show only started a few months ago and the episodes are short, so it is easy to catch up.

Song Exploder - Music artists breakdown the creation/creative process of one of their songs. There's a wide variety of genres/artists. I find I enjoy it it even if it is not music I am usually in to. Some of my favorite episodes are about the creation of TV show theme songs. Jump in anywhere that interests you. They also made a short series of TV episodes for Netflix that follows the same formula.

Imaginary Worlds - Dives into different aspects of fiction/pop culture with content experts. Made by a former NPR producer/NYU professor, so it is well produced and has those vibes. Look at episode titles to see what interests you and jump in anywhere.

One episode of "We're Here to Help" under the belt after seeing this recommendation and my wife and I were laughing the whole time.

Just listened to a Podcast about this Doctor who killed his wife and then moved towns and then married another doctor and lived under the radar for years. Turns out he worked at one of the towns I have locumed at before and some of the older CRNAs worked with him. Dr. Jekyl and Mr Hyde they said. He's in prison now. Some of these psychos move to no man's land to work and hide. Scary as hell.

The Rest is History- Really good if you want to learn about any historical event presented in a very fun but detailed way. Great series on JFK assassination and an even better one on Little Big Horn and the Native Americans.

Levar Burton Reads- LeVar is the only person I can stomach listening to reading books. Mixture of sci-fi and fantasy.

My favorite Podcast is Clark Howard. I just started listening to him. Great advice on many topics. Anyone listen to him? No Politics on this podcast.
