So I took mine on monday (9/15) but I have been too busy to write an breakdown...so this is a pre-breakdown to my super breakdown that's in the works 😉

I have a 3.8/3.9, here are the scores:

PAT: 20
RC: 19 (didn't study for)
Bio: 19
QR: 17 (didn't study for so I am surprised)
Ochem: 23
Gchem: 22

so 20/21/20

Biology:

  • AP Cliffs Biology will prepare you for about 85% of the questions, so its a great resource.
  • Kaplan biology (including the online stuff) would prepare you for maybe 70%, so I would either use both, or use cliffs if you don't have a lot of time.
  • Destroyer helped with 2 questions, but it took like a week to go through three times, so not much payback, only use if you have a looot of time.
  • Skim old notes from classes, its amazing how things come back to you.
  • Breakdown (keep in mind its different for each version):
    • 1 histology slide
    • Only ~4 body systems (but very specific!)
    • ~1 taxonomy (very simple)
    • ~2 embryology
    • ~2 ecology
    • ~1 genetics (simple..but worded tricky)
    • ~4 molecular bio (1 was either u know or u don't)
    • the remaining were anything you would find in cliffs and the practice resources you would find
    • overall make sure you read questions very closely and don't spend too much time on any 1

PAT

  • MUCH HARDER than Crack DAT PAT
    • My CDP scores: 23/22/22/21/22...
  • The keyholes on CDP are way too simple, I caught mannnny tricks on the real one
  • TFE was actually easier on the real thing
    • line counting will not work 85% of the time
    • instead, look at things that stand out and compare answers
  • Hold punching was by far the most difficult I have ever seen
    • Warning: there are half folds!
  • Cube counting was easy
    • beware of tricks and illusions!
  • Pattern folding
    • eliminate answers and don't be intimidated by hard looking figures, often they are the easiest if you just try!!!
      • very easy to eliminate ~2 off the bat and then compare the others

RC:

  • I decided last minute to search and destroy
  • I employed the 2 questions at a time strategy
    • basically look at the first 2 and search for them at the same time, instead of going question by question, do 2 at a time
      • this needs practice!!! It is very easy to get yourself confused, practice this strategy before using!
  • Had on average 2 tone questions per passage
  • Each about ~12-14 paragraphs (~4-5 sentances/paragraph)
  • I only did 2 kaplan RC's, but I found the real DAT to much much easier

Gen Chem:

  • Honestly, hard and tricky
    • I caught many questions that were veryyy tricky and could easily trick someone
    • So, know your concepts COLD.
      • COLD, COLD, COLD!
  • Only ~5 calculations
    • Relatively simple if you had to calculate
    • sometimes they would want you only to set it up
      • i.e. (X * Y) / (Z)
      • the form they ask for is def not that wierd stuff kaplan asks for so don't worry about that
  • If you know Kaplan cold, you should be ok in this section.
    • Kaplan subject tests are great and full lengths about the same difficulty I would say.

QR:

  • Didn't study for this! Was waiting to take a hit but it turned out alright, kinda mad cause I think if I woulda studied I coulda rocked it 😡
  • I DO NOT RECOMMEND NOT STUDYING FOR IT--IT WILL HURT YOUR AA!!!
    • I was overconfident in my math skills 😛
      • I did Kumon as a kid, any Kumon peeps here?? 😀😉
  • Best 3 pieces of advice
    • The word problems are made to look difficult but they are not!!! They are not harddddddd!!!
      • do some practice with them and you will realize how easy they are, just made to look hard
        • dont miss out on easy points!!!
    • Turn things in ALGEBRAAAAAAAA
      • So many problems (especially word problems!) could be turned into algebraic equations and easily solved for, just practice and you will see what I mean
    • When guessing, guess smart.
      • even if you don't know whats going on, you can still eliminate several answer choices, so guess smart!

Organic Chem:

  • Not bad at all, nothing too difficult or out of the ordinary
  • Reactions were at most 2 or so steps
  • Know the basics:
    • SN1/2, E1/2
    • what oxidizes and what reduces
    • ortho/meta/para
    • alkanes/alkenes/alkynes
    • nothing off the wall really
  • Nothing came up about carbohydrates or amino acids (at least this version)
  • Destroyers ochem is a waste of time
  • If you know kaplan cold you should prepared

I took my score sheet to my schools dental school and they offered me an interview invite right away!! 🙂🙂

I took the exam in Lanham, MD...all the Northen VA and DC centers were booked so make sure if your in the DC area to book in advance!!

I am willing to answer any questions, I def know how it feels to be studying, free to PM me 🙂

now to work on the super breakdown...muhahaha😛

great job and breakdown!! although your scaring me a little about pa!

great job and breakdown!! although your scaring me a little about pa!

Thanks 🙂. Honestly bro, my version was harder than CDP, especially key holes...cracks keyholes are way too easy. Get as much practice as you can and def make sure you can eliminate answers because that will get you a lot of points in the TFE and pattern folding.

let me know if you have any more questions.

Which schools  ?
Good scores, ur golden now that you have interviews!

Nice scores, as usual bashing destroyer. Whats new its like every other post from you is just made to bash destroyer, oh well. Good job you should get a bunch of interviews with those scores.

Listen orgoboy, I am tired of you and your constant attacks on me, please quit it.

YOU are the one always hyping destroyer and you got mad cause I called you out...now your trying to call me a destroyer basher?????? please, quit it.

Hah i say its vice versa. You attack me with your nonsense but when I call you out boohoo im attacking you. If you are gonna constantly bash me and destroyer, I will call you out the same wy you call me out wheneven i give destroyer the credit i feel it deserves.

Orgoboy, why can't you be honest with yourself??

ON EVERY POST you are hyping destroyer or attacking ANYONE who says 1 think against destroyer, and now your attacking me!!!!!!

I did destroyer for all sciences:

  • and for orgo is wasss useless, the orgo on the real thing is VERY BASIC is nothing like destroyers orgo which is a much higher level. Ask around...maaaaaaany people have said this!!
  • when destroyer bio helped me with the 2 questions I mentioned it. But 2 questions for a weeks worth of input is not much in my opinion, so I wanted others to know that.

this is not bashing buddy, but of course you can't stand anything unless it has destroyer hype and praise all over it, right??

quit it.

great job man! i knew you'd do well 🙂 and you already have interviews! very nice. with that gpa and score, im sure you'll def go places. good luck! 👍

congrats polarmolar!
now i hope my DAT on the 29th wouldn't be bad. How long did u spend going over the cliffs book? one time thru? seeems like bio q are endless or too detailed on the pract. tests

Without a doubt bio is the hardest. I knew cliffs inside and out but like everyone has been saying, there are going to be about 5 questions or so that you will have never seen.

I did 2 chapters of cliffs a day until I had them down cold.

well done man! good luck on your interviews!
p.s you're not the only one who thought destroyer was useless. Check out my post about my scores 😀

Yea I saw. Bro let me tell you, that FRAP test you got is a killer, I have had 2 friends get killed by it, so you should def be proud of your scores 🙂

Ahh my man did great.. alhumdillah lol
I have to take it the 30th, wish me luck man!

Thanks for the breakdown.
I think there are only me and supraman who ahve not take the test. Everyone is done so jealous.

As I've already told you, amazing scores!! haha I'm proud of you! 😀 So now you have to make a predents profile..

I had forgotten that you were fasting. I'm glad that went okay. I would've been a nervous wreck if I had to fast at the same time as taking the DAT! But you knocked its socks off!

:luck:

Nice buddy, your so amazing,I knew you were gonna get these scores, you absolutely deserve it, have fun in d school😉

Oh by the way, dont mind the orgodorks, everyone knows that Destroyer is only good for a few versions!

Oh and your sooooo helping me study for my retake😛

Congrats👍
It's amazing that you were fasting while taking the exam. I don't know how you did it..Mashalah..
I am planing to take mine on "Eid Fetr". I may get a prize😉

GL on your interview.
