This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
there is a difference between "hard" and "annoying"

hard = 6
annoying = 13 (reading? PAT? please....)

Annoying? AAAaaaannnnddd you didnt talk about 2nd grade math? I guess now-a-days you get to use a calculator?

I would rate QR 'annoying' as 29.73 on a scale of 1-10

welllll.... I wanted to put QR too, but I was ashamed. What kinda computer science (with minors in mathematics) hates math right? Im such a disgrace

Like a 5. Straightforward questions. You either know it or you don't. No tricks. Breadth of material is what makes the test what it is.

QR is completely stupid though. Pointless to have that section on the test.

lulz. I hope you got a 25 or higher. I did! (Who am I kidding, I got a 16 or something. Maybe lower, I can't remember) Goes to show how much dental schools actually care about QR!!

studying for the DAT was like a 14.....
the actual test was about a 6 or 7. the hardest section for me was the PAT, i blind guessed on every single top front end on purpose and spent more time on the other PAT sections to compensate....woopsiesssss

Was a bit easier than I expected. QR is a good way to boost AA. Many of the prep options basically have the exact same forms of questions you'll see, it's just about answering them in the most time efficient manner. Difficulty in that section should never be a problem with the amount of time people usually spend studying for it.

you gotta realize its not that the test is hard, but how they score the test that makes it hard. you could know almost everything, but if you even miss a few questions your standard score drops significantly.

example
Bio
40 questions total, miss even 1 you droup 2-3 pts, miss 4 you down to like a 20. miss 6 questions you got yourself an average score.

GC/OC
30 questions each, miss even 2-3 and you drop like 10 pts for your score.

thats why its so hard to get a high score, even though the questions arent difficult, if your anything less than perfect you get penalized heavily. thats why ppl spend ridiculous amounts of time studying to the detail to get a good score.

Just another test. People stress out too much about it. Study hard like any other test and you will do well.

by section:
BIO: 8 for me. Not a bio major and only had taken bio 1 and 2. Biochem, micro, and maybe genetics would have helped.
GC: 5 pretty straight forward
OC: 5 pretty straight forward
PAT: 8 got lower than on my practice tests
RC: 10 ha.. but I blame it on English being my second language
QR: I agree with the posters above, QR is pretty annoying.
