I just realized that after doing all these applications, rough drafts and mistakes that caused me to redo sections, that I must have killed a bunch of trees. I hope in the future more of the DO schools switch to online applications because I don't want to be responsible for more homeless squirrels.

I still wasted trees on online applications by printing out essays to proofread. If I read from the computer screen I tend to miss more mistakes.

That is why the application process is so expensive. For every one tree they cut down, 1,000,000 seeds are planted.

The term "Doctor" for osteopathic physicians is actually the acronym D.O.C.T.O.R or Doctor of Osteopathic medicine Cutting Trees Rplacement initiative.

When the program started, it inititially only replaced trees used for lecture notes, but after an increase in applications, it became applicable to the application process.

Yep. Unfortunately, Medschool is all about killing trees. Class notes, study packets, image copies, etc. I filled a 7 inch binder with my class notes, hand notes, and various other documents from my first quarter. On top of that, I go through a pack of 1000 3x5 note cards per month.

If it bothers you, there is a great website where you can donate money that will be spent planting trees in the US.
