Positive Effect of Academic Update?

Well, I just got my grades for this past fall quarter and did pretty well - it's been one of my best quarters. I was just wondering, once I send in the academic update, will this positively influence my application? Or is it just additional info that doesn't really matter? I'm still waiting to hear from UW (hoping for an acceptance) and wondering if this update will influence their decision at all.

Hello Flying Rider,
As you are aware, a large component of admissions is based off of numbers (your GPA/DAT/etc). Any component of your application that is enhanced (i.e. GPA from an academic update) could definitely impact the outcome of your application come re-review time.

Since you've already interviewed, and interviewed pretty early I don't think it will make much of a difference in their decision. I'm sure by now they have already decided if they want to accept you, waitlist, or reject you since they meet every other week.

Oh really? Then why don't they notify me about it? I just thought they've been pushing me in the re-review pile every time they meet.
