So basically for my lab final, a lab instructor sent out the final exam to his students before the final exam date. As a result, many students sent it out to their friends. I asked my friend how'd the exam went and he said that his professor sent out the exam to him and asked me If i wanted it. I said yes, without thinking because I thought maybe his exams would be different and I could use it as a practice exam because I have a different lab instructor and he may have a different version of the test. I then figure out that they are investigating the whole situation because the professor should not have sent out the ACTUAL exams. I'm freaking out because they can figure out that my friend sent me the exams. Do you think I can get an IA?

I don't think so. Unless your friend was told by their instructor to not pass it around. The only person I can see getting in trouble here is the instructor.

Sounds like the onus is on the professor. I've had instructors make old exams available as practice questions.
