When people list the years they've done a certain activity, are they only counting the time up to the application date?

Yes. You cannot put an end date past the current month. So I could list 05/10 - 07/12, but not 05/10 - 08/13, even if I was planning to continue the activity until I hypothetically begin medical school.

You do indicate if an activity is ongoing.

And you never put anticipated activities, according to Catalystik.

Yes cause technically the day after the app is sent in you could stop the activity - but I think you could put in the explanation that it is ongoing at time of app.
