Hello SDN,

To make a long story short, I have been a Registered Nurse for 3 years. I never really wanted to be a nurse, but 3 years later I still regret not going to medical school. For the past 3 years I've a full time job with excellent benefit. I also have another full time job at another hospital close by that goes into saving. Basically I have no life. I am 23 years old...Is it too late for me?

I went to a community college. Graduated with a perfect GPA. Graduated my highly competitive nursing program with perfect GPA (Was zero challenge). I want something more challenging and to have more autonomy. I will be completing my BSN this summer, again I expect to have a perfect GPA.

This year I was planning on going to get my Nurse Practitioner. Is there hope for me on the horizon?

What are some "gateways" or suggestions you guys can offer me? Thanks!

There is no gateway other than doing the prereqs, ECs, letters, MCAT, and applying if you want to be a doctor. If you want to be an NP go do that instead.

I appreciate your advise. I was just curious which one would be more beneficial to do in the long run. At the end of the day for me it's not about the $$ but rather the appreciation on helping others, NP and MD fit both those role. I am just not sure which one is right for me.
