Hey, I'm a third year pharmacy student. For the summer I decided to work at a family friend's gas station about three weeks ago. Today I checked a girl's ID for alcohol but I mistakenly didn't realize it said 1993 not 1992 and got a court hearing Wednesday and I heard it's a criminal offense? I know more than likely I'm getting a $1000+ fine. But I'm wondering if I can get kicked out of school for this and if I should tell the school about it, it was an honest mistake. Thanks.

Need to talk to BoP. I would think that the Pharm school will only care if 1 of 3 things:

1) Jail time/Community service prevents you from attending courses.
2) BoP pulls your intern licence.
3) The offence prevents you from being able to work at any APPE sites.

Thus, I would make sure none of that will happen and speak to school once you can explain the repercussions of the event.

I doubt it. At my school I know an upperclassman was convicted with a felony for breaking into a closed gas station (apparently it was late at night and he really needed the gas; also claimed he was going to leave cash for it). A local paper printed the story and he got let go from his internship as a result. The school just helped him find a new one. You should be upfront about it though, tell the Dean/whoever when you get a chance.
