Hi guys! I applied to around 14 schools last year but only got one interview so far (USC) and got waitlisted here. I dont want to keep waiting for USC since I'm not guaranteed to get an offer and I want to get ready for this coming up cycle now. I still havn't heard from other schools so I'm guessing that I'll get rejected

here's my stat
PAT: 21, RC: 16, QR: 20, GC: 20, BIO 26, OC 28, TS 24, AA 22
I think my problem is that super low RC 🙁 and that I took DAT on Aug 28 and DAT score was sent to school mid-September. I submitted all my application materials by late July

I work as a dental assistant for one year and have tons of curricular activities ( I think I'm well-rounded in term of activities), and my GPA is 3.68. I went to CC and got a BS in Bio at UCLA

I really think my only prob is I applied too late. ANyone else can think of my other problems for me not getting post-dec interviews?

Also, If i'm going to reapply, do you think I need to ask my letter recommenders to rewrite their LOR for me? I honestly hate to ask them for this but not sure if it's necessary, or do they just need to update the date on the letter?

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!!!

I think you applied quite late. Also, the RC score is quite low but I believe @LifeOfPablo has a similar score and did quite well this cycle. Maybe another aspect of your application wasn't so strong such as your PS or secondary apps.

Segemebr is far from late. I would say that's not early but not late. The rc does hurt, but the rest of your scores look great. Maybe they are worried you aren't a native speaker? Although being able to read through the science sections would prove otherwise lol.

It could be your PS/lors or just plain bad luck. If you want you could send me the PS and let me take a look at it.

What schools did you apply? Californian schools are known to be hard to get in, did you include some lower tier private schools?

Your science and TS scores are simply superb. I would not re-take the DAT, unless you call admission committees and they specifically call you out against that RC 16 score. I can't imagine that a low RC score with that amazing spread everywhere else would be the breaking point for admissions taking you. That being said, there are tons of schools in the Midwest and Northeast that would love a candidate with high science DAT scores. I'd press those schools early this summer with contacts you know internally to try and get some feedback on it.

And yes, your application was considered late because you took the DAT too late for it to be complete in the first few batches of interviews. Get every single document you have on AADSAS into the system and submitted the first days the application opens in June. No excuses not to. Then, you can worry about re-taking the DAT if need be in the coming months after that.
