I certainly wouldn't take engineering classes for the reason of making 50k as a way of paying for dental school. I am an engineer making ~50k and it is harder to save money then you might think. Once you take out taxes and living expenses, if you save 15k by being a tight wad, I don't think it is enough money to make much of a dent on paying for school. I have been working at a company for 8 months now-just got a raise-yeah! But I haven't saved very much money even though I am a cheap skate if that is a word...I actually like my job, have lots of responsibilities, etc., so sometimes - i know it is blasphemy - i start questioning if i want even go to dental school, but i try to remember that I have always wanted to be a dentist, and i get to choose where i live, work w/ people, yada yada and get remotivated. I guess another reason I start to have doubts is b/c after 4 years of engineering I was burnt out from school, anyways, i don't know why i am rambling....just a hard decision when you already have good career opportunities 🙄
