Hey guys...
I am relatively new to the forum. I am in the process of applying to post bac programs for non-science majors for undergrad.
Does Drexel have any linkage programs that I failed to miss on their website? PMED program to be clear.
Does the undergraduate rankings for these schools have ANY relation to the post-bac programs? i assume not but it probably doesn't hurt to have a good undergrad ranking? probably better faculty from whom you'll be learning from? thus better knowledge yet more competitive... hence medical schools might take that into consideration?
I'm applying to Columbia postbac, NYU postbac, U penn, Drexel, Harvard Extension and last but not least, CUNY Hunter (which for a lower ranking undergrad, i hear has a great post bac program).
but per say, if one were to excel and graduate with a 4.0 at CUNY opposed to 4.0 at Columbia or U penn, medical schools would appreciate an applicant with a 4.0 from a more prestigious/competitive school? I mean keeping numbers aside, two applicant with same numbers, from different schools, which schools of those that i listed, has the best chance of being admitted into a decent/good/ (lol at least A medical in the US) medical school?
OOO and also, the difference between "do it yourself" (or informal) vs formal (programs) i am aware of. But, i keep reading and hearing that the informal is perhaps cheaper way to go and medical school don't care much as long as you can prove you can handle the medical school work. However, if lets say an individual were to get into a program at Columbia (i pick columbia as an example because i think they are one of the more expensive ones), opposed to another individual who might just take appropriate courses at Columbia, as a non-matriculated, wouldn't the cost be the same? since even in the program cost is calculated based on number of credits?
The difference between formal and informal only exists if you get admitted into an expensive program VS. informal at a state institution?
Thanks!!! I know its a lot I just typed, but its a few out of many questions and concerns I have with choosing the right school for me. Thanks a lot!
