I am a junior at a mid-level state school and will earn my BA in Psychology in May (graduating 1 year early). I have not completed my pre-reqs for medical school.

Due to a poor freshman year, I will end up with around a cGPA 3.25. I have not yet taken the MCAT.

I have so-so ECs: volunteer at a local hospital, preceptor for Psychology professor, volunteer at the Humane Society. I have worked throughout college in the financial industry. Once, I graduate, I will start to shadow during some free time.

I am interested in graduating in May as planned, then going on to complete my pre-reqs in some sort of program. My question is how allopathic schools weigh a structured post-bac program versus taking my classes at a University as a non-degree seeking student?

If I choose to simply take classes as a NDS, am I at a disadvantage when applying to medical school?

This is a fairly common question asked, so doing a search will net you better and more detailed answers. The short answer is no, ultimately, they will not regard you a better fit because you did a structured versus an informal. Some benefits do come with having a structured post-bacc like pre-professional letters, linkages to certain schools, and guided counseling.
