I started out a biology major and took bio 1&2 + labs, gen chem 1&2, calc. I then changed my major to psychology but still took anatomy and organic 1 for non professional students. I am now considering post-bac programs and cannot decide whether I am a career changer or an academic enhancer case. I have not taken MCAT or GRE either. I need to know because this distinction is important to which schools I apply to.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Most formal undergrad postbac programs (that offer linkage) are for career changers (i.e. non-science majors) and will only consider people who have taken science courses if they have done pretty well in them and have a high overall GPA (and a high SAT score helps)

You haven't finished ochem or physics, correct? Then I think you should be looking at postbacs.

Some of the structured programs will take you "half way through" where you finish the rest of your prereqs AND take upper div science. Plus MCAT prep and advising and linkages etc.

SMPs want you to have finished all the prereqs and to have taken the MCAT.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you for the responses. I have done some research on some schools and some either want you to have little or none sciences or to have completed all of the pre-reqs and im having a bit of trouble finding out where i place. I have taken about half of the sciences but did not complete the science sequence.

What are your approximate stats? Formal postbac programs may accept people with a decent amount of science if they have good stats.
