I started school again after 13 years from graduating with an BS in Education. I admit to dinking around and only graduating with a 3.45 gpa. So far in post bac I have received all A's.

Do schools take into account the difference of having a 4.0 in all science (and other) classes this time around compared to my previous gpa? I had over 140 credits when I graduated so these grades are not going to improve my cumm very much.

My other question is the importance of taking calculus based physics. Since I need to retake all math and science, it will be another semester before I get to Calculus, but I don't want to wait that long to take physics since the prof that is by far the best is retiring next year. Will algebra based physics hurt me?

Thanks for any help!

Schools look at your cumilative GPA of all classes ever taken (but favor an upward trend). 3.45 is not a bad place to be starting from.

Don't take calculus-based Physics unless you really want to for your own interest. Algebra based physics is sufficient for the MCAT and probably the preferable way to go.
