I just started my research on Post-Bac programs so that I could apply to one in the next year. I read alot of useful advice, but some seem to be old and possibly obsolete? Can anyone uggest a list of schools I should seriously look into? There are so many schools that offer it now and I kind of feel overwhelmed. If you can list some of the specific benefits of the program that would be great! I am interested in post-bac programs who have medical schools. Thanks for your help in advance.

P.S.-I am 25 currently, do you think I am too old to take this route? Some people are suggesting SGU/ROSS instead of a post-bac, but you know how that goes.

25 is not to old to apply to post-bach, some are just for older students. The links from aamc's website are usually about as up to date as you'll find. http://services.aamc.org/postbac/
Read and see which programs fit with you. Some are very structured like Cincinnati, some have no real structure at all like Cleveland st. You can always email the programs and get f eel for what they say. But be careful they will all tell you sunshine and lollipops. These programs can be a big cash cow for the school so the more applicants they get the more money they make.

Have you taken the prereqs and or the MCAT already? That will determine exactly which type of program you're in the market for. If you're referring to postbaccalaureate premedical programs (for so-called "career changers"), many of the best one are not affiliated with medical schools. Rather, they are under the auspices of small, private liberal arts colleges -- interestingly, usually current or former women's colleges. An exception would be Temple, who just brought their postbac premed program under the guise of their medical school this year.

I took my prerequisites. I had to retake some classess like Gen chem I and II and got B+'s. Also I got a C+ in organic I but got an A in II. I also got B+'s Physics I/II and A's in Biology. My health advisor is telling me to do an academic enhancer program, which I guess is an SMP right? I have a 3.4 ish cum, and I haven't calculated my BCPM b/c I know I am not competitive for admissions anyway. What do you guys suggest? I am also a nonscience major, so should I just continue to take more science classes as an undergraduate in my senior year? Would that even help much?
