I'm currently signed up for science classes through UC Berkerley extension program and trying hard to get into open science classes at San Jose State University. But due to the budget cuts, it's been hard for me to get classes at San jose State. So should i take some classes at a community college, or do you know of any 4- year universities (private or state) around san jose, CA that are accepting students to take classes at that school (though they might not be in a specific program at that school). thank you!

I'd recommend taking classes at a CC. I also considered taking my remaining prereqs at SJSU but due to budget cuts, they aren't accepting post-bacs anymore. I took my classes at De Anza College and am planning to take my last prereq at San Jose City College. You can also try West Valley, Mission, Evergreen, or Foothill College.

Semester already started at CSU schools, and classes are already in session. You most likely would not be able to get in given the fact that:

- state schools are not appcepting any new applicants untill fall of next year due to budget cuts

- the application process to get enrolled in school is not instantenous, even if they were accepting applications, you have to apply a semester in advance, meaning now you would have to be applying for spring of next year. Application deadlines for fall are long due.

Your best bet would be taking classes and community colleges for a year and transferring for next fall, since they aren't accepting applicants in the spring. Good luck !

Try USF, University of San Francisco, a private school in SF. Although I think they also already started awhile ago and you probably are late for fall as well.

OMG I'm in the same boat as you. I need 1 unit of Organic Chem or Biochem to meet all requirments and I can't get in anywhere. Does anyone know where I could get 1 UNIT?!?!?! I live in CA too. I may have to take it in the Summer of next year... do any of those schools teach Biochem or Organic Chem in the Summer? :scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

CSU SF teaches organic chemistry and biochemistry for nutirition/nursing/ecology majors in the summer but:

none of those classes are 1 unit.

Ochem lectures are all 3 units. Labs are 2-3 units depending on the level. Biochem mentioned above is 3 units as well.

I don't even know if CSU system has any 1 unit upper division classes period.
