  1. Pre-Dental
I'm applying to dental school this upcoming fall. My gpa is a 3.4, sgpa 3.1 and I have yet to take my DAT. Right now unless I crush my DAT I plan on looking into doing a masters year or a Post Bac because I probably won't get accepted. I am from the greater Philadelphia area and the Temple Post-Bac looks too good to be true. If you get over a 20 on your DAT and a cumulative gpa of 3.5 by the end of the program you will be pre-admitted for the fall at their dental school. It would be great for me to go to Temple and it is one of the schools on my list. If it doesn't work out however I have to reapply to other schools. So from a dental school standpoint what looks better, a masters degree or a post-bac?

If you have the sole intention of attending dental school, either one is fine; because it shows that you were productively utilizing that year. There are also post-bacc programs that award a certificate or even a masters. If there is a chance that you won't be attending dental school after a year, it seems like it would be best to get a masters degree.

During my interview at Penn, my interviewer asked me what I would do should I not get in anywhere that cycle, I said post-bac, and she said no. You would do a one year masters program.
