Hey guys!

This is my first time posting and I'm still trying to figure out my way around the site, but does anyone know of any good post-bacc programs or special masters program (SMP) that are good to attend to boost GPAs, that dental schools like? (I'm sure there probably aren't any that guarantee dental admission with completion of a program, but if any of you know of anything like that, it would be amazing!) I'd like to stay in California, but am totally open to out-of-state schools that have good OOS acceptance rates, too. :] Thanks!

I think the MWU Masters in biomedical sciences (there's one in Arizona and one in Illinois) both are highly regarded. The programs are different, I believe, MWU-AZ program being 9 months and strictly course-based and the other being about 24 months with a mandatory research/thesis.

There is a post-bac program at Cal St LA you can look into. I just took piecemeal classes there to boost my GPA, but others were actually in the program. I got in eventually and so did many others from there.

i did the tulane one, and would recommend it - i think it got me into 2 schools my third cycle

Did you have to apply to a program for LA? I'm a little confused about how you were able to take classes without being in a program. Also, do most CSU's have post-bacc's/SMP programs? Specifically looking at San Jose, Long Beach, Stanislaus and LA. Thanks!

Hi!
I really would like to stay in Cali for the post bacc, but looking at SF State's requirements, it has listed a "statement of academic disadvantage." Is this a different program than I thought? What exactly does that mean? Are there any other schools that offer post-bacc or SMP programs in CA? Thanks!
