for career-changers who are enrolled in post-bacc programs, what are ya'lls backup plans if you don't get into med school this year? don't want to be a damper here, but I just want to consider the different options available if the post-bacc thingy doesn't work out. i'm sure there are some students here who've had classmates who went on to do other things...possibly also in healthcare?

thanks for your responses in advance!

I'm not in a post-bacc myself but I have a lot of friends who are. Most of them have finished their post-baccs and have started working, albeit temporary for the "lag year" between post baccs and med school apps. A lot of them are hoping to stay with their current positions if they don't get into med school. And generally they've found that their current positions are more than happy to have them stay on because training new employees is an investment in and of itself. Some of my friends' jobs have included-- hospital admin, POA (physician's office assistant) type jobs or even jobs not in the health care field.
