Hello,
I'm new to SDN and figured this community is the best place to get my answer. Sorry if this is not the correct place to post this thread.
I'm currently a rising senior at a large university. I am an informatics major (information systems) and a pre-health professions cognate. I switched to my cognate from business last year due to interning at a hospital and realizing I wanted to become a doctor. Since I am late in the game for premed, I am deciding to do a non-science degree post-bacc program to finish my prereqs and prepare for the MCAT.
I currently have a 3.45 cgpa (which should be rising with my semester abroad grades coming in) and have taken only two science classes that are on the MCAT (psychology - got an A, and biology - got a B-). I will have to take chem and two non MCAT sciences (anatomy and physiology). I am planning to get EMT certified next semester and am involved in many organizations as well.
I am hoping for some insight in what I should be doing to prepare for the application process and also what are my chances of getting into a top formal post-bacc program?
Thank you.
