I've been doing hours of research on my own, but I am struggling to find a Post Bacc program for someone in my position and would really appreciate your help! 🙂 I graduated in May 2010 with a degree in General Studies and a GPA of 2.97. I started college as a pre-med, but withdrew repeatedly from science courses and failed one and settled for just graduating at the time.

I have just moved back to the US a few days ago after living overseas for the past couple years, and I have re-committed to becoming a doctor, starting at the beginning. However, I have found very few Post Bacc programs that will accept someone who has taken and failed science classes without completing all of the pre-reqs, with a GPA just under 3.0.

My alma mater has re-accepted me as a post-bacc student, however I would be the only pre-med post-bacc student and I've never heard of a post-bacc student there before. It would also be a slower process, and when I was there before there was little support for pre-med students. I would rather attend a university that welcomes post-bacc students and had support for pre-med students. I have not found a formal post-bacc program that would even consider me at this point, and as many universities would do some kind of informal program, I feel overwhelmed to find one that would work for me.

Location is not an issue for me, but cost could be. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions for me? Thank you!!!

Just all your pre-reqs done and get As this time even if you have to do it slow. You do NOT need or want a formal post-bac program right now and I don't think there's any available for you since you took some pre-req. You just need to go to any 4 year university/college and take the appropriate remaining prerequisite you need (look up medical school required courses) along with the required course you failed.

I live in Boston and both Umass and Harvard Extension (and others) offer cheap classes year around. Big universities all over the country will do the same. That's your best and cheapest bet.

Hi I was wondering if you ever found a post-bacc or what you ended up doing? I'm in a similar position. Graduating in June 2014, looking at post baccs since I didn't do so well. I don't have a MCAT score. I saw that there are programs that don't require MCAT scores, just wondering how credible and helpful they would be to help me get to med school afterwards.
