Good evening all,
This is kind of related to another inquiry I posted in the Premed forum but I think this question belongs here, and will hopefully be valuable to other readers on its own.
Since I've been considering the medical route it has appeared to me that a good, reputable post bac program is the way to go for someone with no prereqs. One of the main advantages, however, appears to be the med school linkages that allow students to fast track right into med school. So I'm wondering how advantageous these programs may be without utilizing the linkages, and how they would look to med schools without any connection to the program.
Thoughts?
Just to put it in perspective, between the cost of the programs I'm looking at (Goucher, Bryn Mawr, Columbia, etc.) and the cost of living in those areas it would end up costing my maybe twice as much as if I did my prerequisites out west where I currently live. If I stay around here I would likely do my school work at Montana, Montana State, Washington, or (less likely) in California.
Thanks,
Matthew
