i was looking over the post bacc programs for a couple schools just to see what would be required if i didn't get in this cycle--clearly i'm getting nervous that i haven't gotten any interviews yet. at least no rejections, either i suppose. back to the point....

the curricula for the post bacc programs included predental requisites (sciences + labs, physics, calculus). i've taken all these classes in undergrad. i've gotten B's in all of them on my record. is there a point to retaking them? are post bacc programs flexible in allowing more advanced courses, like histo, A/P, or an advanced biochem course?

You were most likely looking like programs for those with little or no science background. I think that you may want to check into SMPs or special master's programs. The post bacc forum has info on that....

... or you could take more upper level undergrad science courses. "Post-bac" doesn't necessarily = a formal program. I did mine a la carte and it worked well because I didn't have to worry about structure... I took what I needed when I needed it.

Not that SMPs are bad options. They're great. Just letting you know that there are many options.

do you pay by credit if you set up your own program? how would you apply for something like that? also, did you take your classes at NYU? is it recommended that you do the extra classes at the university where you would like to attend later for DS? i'm planning to be in NYC regardless of whether i get in.

also, i looked at your predents profile and i noticed you nailed the bio section, which gave me a fair bit of trouble, despite being a bio major. how did you study for that and how long ago did you take the exam?

sorry for all the questions. clearly a point of concern for me.

If it's SMPs you're interested in, I've compiled a pretty comprehensive list of them (I think). You're welcome to PM me if you'd like a copy.
