Post baccalaureate Vs. Extension classes

Hey guy's and Gals,

I'm currently applying to University of California's Postbaccalaureate program for all the UC's, and i guess my question is, let's say i don't get into this Post bacc program and decide to take my pre reqs through a University Extension. is there much difference? will the classes still be looked at as the same when applying to a Dental school?

the classes you will be taking in the post-bacc program and the extension classes are actually the same thing.

The only difference is, it will be a lot easier to actually get into the classes you need if you were in the post-bacc program. Also, the post-bacc program is set-up so you have a full course load each semester/quarter.

If you don't get in the post-bacc program, you can still take the same classes through extension, but try to take at least 3 science courses each semester/quarter, unless you have other obligations such as work, volunteer, shadow, etc.

But be aware that it will be a lot harder to add classes through extension since you will not have priority for seats.

Also depending how you add your class as extension, but if you are taking class with regular students (aka concurrently), your tuition is probably higher than if you were in formal postbac, depending extension.
