Hey everyone,

I've been looking into several post-bacc programs, and it looks like they're generally only intended those who have taken little to none of the pre-reqs (0-2 classes) or to those who've taken all of them. I've basically taken half:gen chem I and II and intro bio I and II, with all the labs, as well as 2 English classes and 1 semester of calc. Would any post-bacc program even consider someone in between?

Has anyone here gotten into a post-bacc program having completed about half of the pre-med pre-reqs? If so, where?

Or should I just take the remainder of the classes on my own and apply to a an advanced sciences post-bacc or SMP after?

Also, does anyone have advice for getting volunteer experience? I'm currently a senior at school out of state, and the hospital here is only looking for volunteers who'd be able to do it for at least 2 semesters, but I'd only be able to do it for 1.

Why not just take the rest on your own? That's what I did. Then you can take some upper-level science courses mixed in, if you need to. No need for a formal program IMO.

As for volunteer experience, you will have at least a year left for post-baccalaureate courses once you graduate, so start volunteering in an ER or something during courses (If you want clinical experience). You will have plenty of time to rack up some hours. Also, if you want, see if you can volunteer somewhere in the community aside from hospitals for your last semester. You don't need pure clinical volunteering.

i am in the same boat as you.

If you grades were poor, start the pre-reqs from scratch again... and ACE them... start to finish.
