I'm a graduating senior and plan on applying to med schools in the upcoming cycle. My problem is a low gpa (3.4-3.5), so a post bac program would be good for me. However, considering the cost of my undergrad education, paying for a post bac program is not something I'm looking forward to.

So my question is whether there are post bac programs with no tuition fee? I know UCLA's RAP is one such program. However you need to have already unsuccessfully applied to be eligible for this program, so I would have to wait a year assuming I don't get into any med schools this cycle.

So yeah, anybody know of any post bac programs with no (or low) tuition fees?

at some universities if you work full time there (as a research assistant, lab tech, etc) you can take classes for free. also classes at a state university are alot cheaper than private institutions

I'm not sure a post-bac would be good for you. Classes, yes, but a post-bac, maybe not. A buddy had a 3.4 w/ 31 MCAT and got in to 5 M.D. schools this year (after zero last year). The difference was 6 credits of graduate work at a local college and applying earlier.
