has anyone heard anything from buffalo since dec 1st? i interviewed there on the 7th and would like to know how long it'll be until i hear an answer.

I interviewed there Nov 30th. They said I would hear from them within 7-10 days, but I haven't heard a peep yet.

Yea, she said a week or so and I am still waiting.

I wouldn't care, but they should at least be honest about it, don't say something and then just not do it.

I did. I interviewed there on Nov 29th. well it's been more than 7-10 days now! I really want to go to buffalo, why don't they just accept me🙂

how did you say thank you? were you short and sweet, or to did you talk about your experience at the school and everything?

i really want in at buffalo too. i'm willing to write a letter, i just wouldn't want to come on too strong.

hey I was on the first too...No reply. And I did send a thank you letter to the intervewers and Barbara and Barbara responded thank you.. But no decision as of yet.

they make decisions 30 minutes after the interview and then wait at least 2 weeks to mail them?

common sense tells me this is wrong. besides, i'd rather send a letter in the case that i'm waitlisted.

i think they decide within a week then mail out, so youll recieve a letter within two weeks. but you can check your status within a week on their site

I received my letter yesterday...interviewed on the 30th. I live 5 minutes from campus though, so the mail wouldn't have taken long. I would guess the letters will be out to people farther away by monday.

keep in mind this was last cycle, but i interviewed mid-december and was accepted 2 days later. i think the fact that they were about to break for the holiday had something to do with the fast turn around.

I could not hold on and not share this, but buffalo is really awesome with deposit. They give it back to you till April 1st if you change your mind. This school is all about education and not getting/stealing your money🙂

I had my interview at Buffalo on Dec. 8th and I just got my acceptance letter today.😀 I now have to decide between UPitt and Buffalo but I'm seriously leaning towards Buffalo. Probably see in Squire Hall in August!😀

did you get any notice before the mail such as on their site or aadsas? i interviewed dec 14 and I am wondering where I stand as of now.

And no, I think that around 29858235 posts on the topic show that not only are thank you notes not sucking up, but that they are basic etiquette, necessary, and will only work in your benefit. (sorry if I sound bitter, it's just been discussed SO much...and people don't realize how important thank you notes are.)

Hope to see some of you in August, and maybe I'll be one of your Bigs....who knows? 😀

actually no. i am lucky though because i actually live right next to U. Buffalo so when i hadn't heard anything I went over to the dental school and asked if I had been accepted. they told me i had but they hadn't updated aadsas or their personal website www.sdm.buffalo.edu/applicant yet. I just checked and it still says "interview". they have made their decisions though and you should find out soon. If you didn't interveiw until the 14th then it might take a week or so before you find out.

So what happens if you get waitlisted at buffalo? do they have a ranking system or can you call to find out how far down the list you are. Man, at least i was not rejected, but waitlisted isnt much better. At least its just a stiff blow to the stomach rather than a flying slap to the face.

My friend got waitlisted and he went in to talk to Dr. Joynt and this is what he supposedly said. If you get waitlisted then you probably won't find out till either after April 1st or May 1st (i can't remember which) that you got it. Buffalo interviews up into March, and then after the April/May 1st deadline, they go back to their waitlist and fill in whatever spots are left. Some years they take alot of people from the waitlist, sometimes they don't. Last year I was told they took alot of people. So chances are you still have a pretty good shot of gettin' in, just have to wait and see. Good luck!

Last year I was told they took alot of people.

It's true! One guy was accepted around 4 days before the start of classes, and he's one of the funnest people in the class 😎

So definitely don't lose hope!
