Hey everyone....it seems like there is a really good chance of getting accepted if you are successful in landing an interview based on the comparison of the "accepted" thread to the "interview" thread. Does anyone know any stats to back this up, or does it just depend to much on the school to be able to draw conclusions? Thanks!

certainly depends highly on the school.

some schools interview like an assembly line while others are very selective in who gets an interview and then take most of the interviewees.

temple says that it accepts 40% of applicants post interview. i don't know about any other places.

agreed, it varies from school to school. but it's not a secret or anything. all four of the schools i interviewed at told us up front that they will interview X applicants for Y seats during the cycle.

as an aside though, the percent accepted is not constant throughout the interview cycle because of rolling admissions. relatively speaking, a high percentage of early interviewees are accepted and a high percentage of late interviewees are rejected simply because seats are limited. e.g., just because temple accepts 40% of interviewees doesn't mean that somebody interviewing in february has a 40% chance of being accepted...

in other words, apply early 😉
