Does everyone got some sort of unsolicited ( out of the blue) post-interview communication? i.e. the PD/residents call/e-mail you before the rank list is due.

I went to more than 10 interviews, but no body told me I am rank to match/highly/love to have me here...just absolutely nothing. I am very worry, am I the only one? :scared:

Arrording to the NRMP statistic with step 1 scorce and number of continuous ranking...there is 97 to 99% match rate for me, but it still cannot ease my nerve...😕

BTW, i am applying for a very competitive field.

There have been many threads already posted about this topic.

To Summarize all the previous threads:

Anything you receive (or don't receive) post interview from programs means nothing until March 19th.

should I get some beer tonight and relax?
I am freaking out and having dream...:scared:...

problem is, this year, rads is very very competitive

10 would have been the magic number in years past

my buddies tell me 15 is a safer bet this year in light of the massive increase in applications

that being said, what's done is done. all you can do is sit tight and wait

Don't worry, most of the folks (applying for Radiology) who receive unsolicited post-interview communication are superstars who probably received them from multiple institutions and may not end up at the one you want to attend. Just because a program sends 10-15 rank to match letters doesn't mean they will get those applicants. Many residents I talked to that matched at their number 1 choice never heard anything after the interview. Hang in there!

Wait a second. It doesn't sound right to me...As far as I know, all of the the schools that me and my friends interveiwed at didn't increase the number of interview slots with the exception of one schools in Cali. Therefore, the chances of matching at this year should be the same as the people who got 10+ interview last year...

I agree that this years seems to have 20 to 25% increased in applicants, so it make it more difficult to get an interview from the top schools or get an IV in general...but once you got enough IV, the chances of matching should be the same as last year.

Can anyone verifiy my theory...am I right? or totally wrong?

To the OP, I'd be more worried about your questionable English skills than about not getting post-interview love. I hope you had a good number of proofreaders go over your PS. Also hope you spoke better on the interviews than you type here.😕
