There seem to be certain programs that send a letter, email, or something to every applicant after their interview. Thought I?d start a thread to compare which programs seem to be sending correspondence to everyone?

From my experience, everyone gets a letter from Hopkins, the Brigham and U Florida Gainesville.

got one from UCSF

got one from UCSF

got one from Loyola, U Maryland

Yale, Boston U, Case/Metrohealth. Anyone interview at these places and either get/not get letters?

got one from albert einstein, stony brook, cook county

docstrange,

What do you mean by a letter of intent? Is this a separate letter from your post-interview thank you? Something like, "I am very interested in your program and would like to be a part of it."? If this is a separate letter, when did you send it? I've only sent out thank you letters following interviews, but have hinted to the ones I prefer that I would like to be there. Thanks!

Well in my case i use letter of intent and thank you letter interchangeably. I just sent out thank you letters but only to my top two choices. In the letter i both thanked them for the interview and included blurb about ranking them highly. Its been about a week and a half and no responses yet. I feel kinda stupid and unwanted now that the love has not been reciprocated. Im wondering if i should have sent anything at all. So i was wondering if anyone elses cries have fallen on deaf ears????

Got a letter from Metrohealth. Nada from the rest. Couple of programs responded to my emails......Brigham, U of Miami JMH.......but absolute silence from the rest 🙁
Do you think this is a bad sign and that they will not rank you? If so I'm really in the soup.

Guys, RELAX. In the end, all of these letters back and forth mean nothing. Send your thank you cards, rank the places you feel most comfortable with, and just step away from the computer and wait.

That is comforting. I am mainly concerned cause as an IMG my chances are slim though I have a fair number of interviews. So was curious to know if programs actively try to recruit US Seniors. But doesnt seem to be the case. Well lets hope for the best anyway.

For your info, i'm a US-IMG and have 12 interviews. some of them at solid programs. if you really are interested in the field and are in it for the right reasons, you will get a spot!
