Post-interview reject from Case

Has anybody ever been rejected post-interview from Case Western, as opposed to being put on their "hold list"?

Hey there, I'm in the same boat as u (on stupid 'hold list') but they told us that it's very rare for them to straight up reject people after interviews. Were you told the same thing?

I am on hold too 🙁 . Any idea how many from the waitlist get accepted? When will this happen? This waiting is killing me. 😡

I was looking at previous years posts and the chances of getting off of the hold list are pretty slim. 🙁 🙁

Yeah, apparently chances are nada for getting off the hold list. When the waitlist comes around there are a handful that get in from that (8-10ish). Good luck to all quasi-rejects!

Cheer up guys - at the end of the day, Case is not really gonna make a huge difference to your residency placement. Whatever school you get into, just do well in your exams, ace the boards, get good reccos, and u may be in Case or wherever as a resident!

Hey TripleDegree, since you brought up the point, I heard that MD from Wright State doesn't appeal very good when it is time of residency match. What's your opinion? (My only acceptence is from WSU and I liked Wright State very much).

hey Ravi, check out my Ohio School thread, some discussion about NEOUCOM and WSU there, bottom line imho is that an MD is an MD, and as long as you can match into the specialty of your choice through stellar board scores, reccos etc, nothing else matters.

congrats on the WSU acceptance, they're a cool institution. i really liked it there too.

Whatever, Case isn't even that great. I just REALLY hope i match to UT Southwestern so I can send that stupid school a letter saying that I withdraw from the waitlist b/c I got in somewhere better...u know, #18 vs. #24, Dallas Vs. Cleveland...it'd be a no-brainer, really! 🙂

hey, guys. i was wondering how you all heard you where on the "hold list." Did you receive a letter a few weeks after the interview? I interviewed a month ago, and I haven't heard a thing.

Yup, my hold letter was snail-mail and took about three weeks as I recall. If you're nervous, call them up.
