Post-interview UCSF responses

Lady--
I actually still haven't completely settled on UCSF over the JMP, but I am leaning towards UCSF for a few reasons:

1. The JMP is very heavily geared towards primary care. It's quite probable that I may end up in a primary care field, but I don't want to limit my options just yet.

2. I am slightly nervous about such a small class size. I actually love the idea of such a tight knit group of students & faculty, BUT there's always the potential for a totally incompatible group like the one they had a few years back.

3. I'm also a bit nervous about the new curriculum. I THINK that 100% PBL would be perfect for me, but I really can't be sure having never been in that atmosphere. Also, the idea of being a guinea pig is a bit worrisome.

PM me with your thoughts! Congratulations on getting in to the JMP!

Hey Wahoo--I just PM-ed you.
Both Becky and Wahoo--wonderful observations! I had somewhat different reservations about JMP. Actually, I thought that the class size was great, since you get to know professors really well, and become (possibly) lifelong friends with your classmates. But, I see your point now.
Also, I am concerned about lack of clinical campus in vicinity. I saw a girl (MS1) at Stanford assist in surgery (!!!!!!!!) on the level of an intern, and, not that I want to get my hands dirty the first day, but I would like to watch and shadow a lot of different doctors to get an idea what i like early. I feel like being at Berkeley would limit this opportunity.

ok, so supposedly some letters of acceptance were sent out yesterday, march 19th. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> i figured i'd bump this thread up..perhaps some of you living in the immediate vacinity may be getting some wonderful news..

again..state the date that you interviewed, the decision, and the date received.

gracias..and best of luck to everyone 😀
