Hey guys, just wanted to see what people are doing about the post-match questionnaires being sent out. I've received several of them, most of them saying something like "congratulations on your match, could you fill out this questionnaire to help us improve our recruitment by telling us what you did/did not like about our program?"

I guess I wouldn't have a problem filling them out if they were anonymous, but some of them are not (asking me to email the info back to them) and also asking very specific questions like "What # did you rank our program?". I feel like I might have a problem being honest when they know who I am.

What's everyone else doing?

Well, they know where you ranked them. All that information is made available to the programs. Fill it out if you feel like it, dont otherwise. I wouldnt worry about it though.

They only know you didn't rank them #1. They also know where you matched, but they DO NOT KNOW WHERE THEY WERE IN YOUR RANK LIST.

Its somewhere on here that the PD's see the entire ROL or everyone that they ranked. I thought it was a quote from NRMP. Maybe someone else can help me find it.

PDs get to know where everyone they ranked end up Matching or if they go unmatched, but that's it. NRMP states nobody but the applicant ever has access to an individual's ROL. NOBODY!

Unless a PD, like Dr. Mittman, is on here and wants to contradict that NRMP guarantee... nobody knows your ROL.

What you say makes sense, and yet I cant help but remember that someone made a distinctly different argument (with quotes!) on here last week. But yours sounds correct, now that I think about it.

http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/faq//us_seniors_faq.html#12:

"You are the only one, other than the NRMP staff, who can access your rank order list unless you give your AAMC ID and password to someone else. Your rank order list is limited to need-to-know NRMP Staff."

http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/policies/map_main.html#use_info

"9.0 Use of Information

Each program and applicant authorizes the NRMP to use any information provided by such program or applicant to the NRMP in any study approved by the NRMP, provided that no information clearly and uniquely identifiable with such program or applicant is disclosed in reports resulting from such study.

Each applicant also authorizes the NRMP to release applicant Matching Program results to each program that ranked the applicant on the program's ROL, to the applicant's school of medicine or osteopathy, and to those program directors who request such information to verify whether the applicant was matched."

So my understanding is that they know if and where you matched but not the contents of your ROL.

I only know where you ranked my program if I figured out who you were on SDN and you posted your rank list. The list I get is simply where everyone I ranked ended up matching.

I fill them out and send them back with honest feedback.

I've only gotten one thus far, from BIDMC. I filled it out as honestly as I could, but didn't send it back with my name (it was an online survey).
